Moonshadow
I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night He's got to be strong and he's got to be fast And he's got to be fresh from the fight.
The black mare stole silently through the claiming lands, hoping to be seen and hoping to remain invisible. She was nervous, but who could blame her? She hardly had a penchant for social interactions. She didn't want to be claimed by some dark or a slavedriver. Finding a suitable spot, in the open but near a stand of trees in which shadows she could retreat, Moonshadow settled and waited. Waiting for her hero- a stallion that could sweep her away to some peaceful meadow where she could live her life pacifically.
Fat chance of that. As a light, she failed the one facet that required lights to be optimistic. All her life, she had been kicked around, or forced to wander and fend for herself. She was a natural follower, and would rather happily obey orders from another than try and make her own decisions. Herd life appealed to her, because surely there'd be another mare who was better apt to fill the lead mare position.
I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light He's got to be sure and he's got to be soon And he's got to be larger than life.
